The name “Limu” encapsulates the region’s signature flavour profile, known for its clean cup with subtle citric acidity, extending beyond Jimma into the neighbouring illuababor zone.
Limu coffee originates from the lush forests of Western Ethiopia, where Arabica coffee was born. It shares flavour characteristics with other renowned Ethiopian regions like Yirgacheffe and Sidamo, boasting floral notes and citric acidity. Compared to these regions, Limu is distinguished by its fuller body.
