The economy in Peru heavily relies on coffee as it provides an economic income to around 223,000 Peruvian families, and in 2017, was the country's second-biggest agriculture export by value

Peru has long held strong potential for producing exceptional coffee. Its high altitudes, rich soils, and favorable climate create ideal conditions for Arabica cultivation. Typical Peruvian coffees are clean, wet-processed, and bright, with lively acidity, subtle fruit or floral notes, and a gentle sweetness - brightness being the defining feature. Most coffees are grown at elevations above 1,800 meters using older Typica varieties. Despite these advantages, Peru often remains underrepresented compared to renowned small-farm Colombian or high-grown Guatemalan coffees.

Cajamarca

The northern Peruvian city of Cajamarca boasts a stunning landscape filled with vast mountain ranges, as well as a part of the Amazon Rainforest. It was once a booming hub for an ancient Incan empire, remaining a trade and culture epicentre for Peru today.

Cajamarca has a subtropical highland climate, presenting stable temperatures ranging between 16-20 C all year round. Most rainfall occurs in the warmest months of the year, which combined with the mineral rich mountain soil makes the region particularly fertile.
